WANA (Jul 02) – A newly disclosed document from Israel’s Interior Ministry reportedly shows that Iranian missile strikes completely destroyed the main gasoline storage facility at the Bazan refinery in Haifa and damaged key energy infrastructure, including the site’s internal power plant, gas turbines, boilers, and control rooms.

 

According to the document, increased fuel imports and maximum production at the Ashdod refinery have only partially offset Israel’s gasoline shortage.

 

The Bazan refinery, which supplies about 60% of Israel’s fuel and gasoline, was targeted during the two recent rounds of conflict with Iran. The report contrasts with earlier statements by Israel’s energy minister, who denied any disruption to the country’s fuel supply.

 

Official estimates cited in the document indicate that full reconstruction of the Bazan refinery is expected to take until 2028, despite the Netanyahu government having previously decided to permanently shut down the facility by 2031.
