Iranian Pharma Firm Secures EU Marketing Authorization
WANA (Jun 17) – The Deputy Minister of Health and Head of the Iran Food and Drug Administration (IFDA) has highlighted several major achievements in the food and medicine sectors over recent months, noting that despite ongoing challenges, significant milestones have been reached that deserve closer attention.
In his remarks, IFDA Head Mehdi Pirsalehi pointed to the launch of the food IRC (Iran Registration Code) system, designed to streamline and accelerate the licensing process, as a key step forward.
Pirsalehi further revealed that an Iranian pharmaceutical company has successfully obtained authorization to sell its medicinal product within the European Union. He described the accomplishment as a highly valuable milestone, achieved only after navigating one of the most stringent regulatory frameworks in the world.
“Today, we proudly witness an Iranian company securing authorization to supply its product to the EU market—a success that, until a few years ago, seemed far out of reach for the country’s pharmaceutical industry,” Pirsalehi stated.
