Iranian President Condemns Silence of Human Rights Claimants over Israeli Atrocities
WANA (Aug 12) – Tuesday, August 12, 2025 – The President of Iran strongly criticized the silence and inaction of those claiming to defend human rights and peace in the face of Israeli actions, calling the starvation of the people of Gaza before the eyes of the world “shameful.”
On Tuesday morning, Masoud Pezeshkian visited the memorial of martyred scientists at the Faculty of Nuclear Engineering, Shahid Beheshti University, where he paid tribute to the portraits of the fallen scientists and signed the memorial book. “These dear ones had no crime other than serving the people of Iran and striving to equip the country with advanced technologies, yet they were assassinated by the Zionist regime,” he said.
Pointing to the support of the United States and some European countries for Israel, Pezeshkian added: “The Israelis are aggressors who enjoy full backing from the United States. They have the platform, the money, and the power — and today, in addition to widespread killings, they are cutting off access to water, medicine, bread, and food, driving people into starvation.”
Calling Western claims of democracy and human rights “a lie,” the President stressed: “Our martyred scientists did nothing but work to protect the country from cowardly acts of aggression.”
Concluding his remarks, Pezeshkian honored the memory of Iran’s science and technology martyrs and expressed hope that the nation’s youth would continue their path with determination and take firm steps toward the country’s independence and freedom.
