WANA (Aug 02) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, expressing gratitude for the support and solidarity of the Pakistani people during the 12‑day imposed war, emphasized the need for Muslim nations to share their scientific, industrial, and agricultural capacities. “We must create a united bloc to meet the needs of the Islamic Ummah ourselves,” he stated.

Pezeshkian, who traveled to Lahore to pay tribute to the great Muslim poet and thinker Allama Muhammad Iqbal, met with Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, leader of the Pakistan Muslim League.

During the meeting, the Iranian President stressed that if Muslims around the world stand united, “the Zionist regime will no longer be able to target independent nations individually.” He reiterated that cooperation in key sectors would enable the Islamic Ummah to secure its own future.

Nawaz Sharif Praises Iran’s Resistance Against Israel

For his part, Nawaz Sharif lauded the resilience of the Iranian people in the face of recent Israeli attacks. “The people of Iran, through their resistance, not only defended their country but also presented a renewed and dignified image of Iran,” he said. “This resistance was not merely against a regime but a courageous confrontation with global powers. The Iranian people have revived their proud history of thousands of years. In Pakistan, we consider this resistance a source of honor and pride.”

He added that his personal presence at the airport to welcome the Iranian President was a tribute to this great steadfastness. “Pakistan is not only a neighbor but also a brother of the Islamic Republic of Iran. We are eager to strengthen and expand relations in all fields,” Sharif noted.
