Iranian President’s Message Following Selection of Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei as Leader
WANA (Mar 09) – Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, issued a message congratulating Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei after the Assembly of Experts selected him as the third Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In his message, the president described the decision as the beginning of a new era of dignity and strength for the Iranian nation.
In the statement, the president referred to the decisive vote of the members of the Assembly of Experts in favor of Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei and described the decision as a sign of the wisdom and foresight of the leadership institution in ensuring the continuity of the path of the Islamic Revolution.
He also referred to the position and role of Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, describing him as the “martyred and wise leader of our time,” and emphasized that his legacy and achievements in preserving the system and strengthening the revolution have provided a solid foundation for Iran’s future.
Pezeshkian further described the selection as a reflection of the will of the Islamic community to reinforce national unity. He stressed that this unity has acted as a strong barrier against the conspiracies of adversaries and has supported the Iranian nation in continuing its path of resistance and progress.
In another part of his message, the president expressed hope that under the leadership of Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the country would reach new horizons of sustainable independence, scientific and technological advancement, and comprehensive development—horizons in which social justice, national progress, and international dignity for the Islamic Republic of Iran will be further realized.
He also referred to the regional conditions and the challenges facing the country, emphasizing the historic resilience of the Iranian nation in confronting difficulties.
According to the president, the Iranian people have always been able to overcome the most difficult periods through faith, collective wisdom, and persistent effort. He added that making use of the capacities of the country’s elites, youth, and dedicated managers can further facilitate the path toward progress and effective governance.
At the end of his message, Pezeshkian prayed for the success of the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution and asked God to grant him success and honour in safeguarding national unity and building a developed, independent, and powerful Iran.
