WANA (May 26) – Ali Kaveh, a distinguished professor at the Civil Engineering Faculty of Iran University of Science and Technology, has ranked first globally in two fields—Optimization Design and Metaheuristic Algorithms—according to the prestigious ScholarGPS ranking. He now stands among the top 0.05% of researchers worldwide.

 

This recognition, which Kaveh has maintained for three consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024), is based on comprehensive analysis by ScholarGPS, a system that reviews over 200 million scientific articles and 30 million researcher profiles. The rankings prioritize scientific output, research quality, and impact—excluding self-citations and co-author count to ensure greater accuracy.

 

Born in 1947 in Tabriz, Kaveh began his academic journey at the University of Tabriz and later earned his Master’s and PhD degrees in civil engineering from the University of London. Over the decades, he has become a leading figure in his field, honored as a distinguished professor, prolific author, and pioneering researcher.

 

His impressive list of accolades includes national cultural medals, the Alborz Award, recognition as a “Prominent Figure” in engineering, and multiple research excellence awards from Iranian ministries and institutions. Kaveh has authored 22 specialized books in structural and civil engineering.

 

This latest achievement not only highlights Kaveh’s personal excellence but also underscores the global impact of Iranian academia in advancing cutting-edge research.
