WANA (May 27) – Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, departed for Russia on Tuesday, leading a high-level delegation to attend the 13th Moscow International Security Conference.
The three-day summit in Moscow brings together top national security officials from various countries. This year’s conference focuses on forming a new, just, indivisible architecture of equal and inclusive security.
The Iranian official, who also represents the Supreme Leader in the council, is scheduled to deliver a speech at the summit. On the sidelines, he will hold bilateral meetings and consultations with other officials, including senior Russian authorities, to review the latest progress in Iran-Russia strategic relations.
Last year’s conference—the 12th of its kind—was held in Saint Petersburg and saw participation from representatives of over 100 countries.
This year’s attendees include members and representatives from major international groups and organizations, such as BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Arab League, the African Union, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and others.
Ali Akbar Ahmadian, referring to these major international groups and organizations, stated that new mechanisms are forming in the international arena, offering nations fresh opportunities to help establish a new global order. He urged countries to make the most of this evolving landscape.
