Iranian Short Film Director Wins at Icelandic Film Festival
WANA (Oct 18) – Iranian filmmaker Saeed Siri has won the Best Short Film Direction award at the 15th edition of the Píff International Film Festival (PIFF) in Iceland for his short film “She Is Not Here”.
The 14-minute film, written and directed by Siri, tells the story of a nine-year-old girl named Kiana who suffers severe psychological trauma following an accident. She soon discovers that her sketchbook possesses magical powers capable of transforming her surroundings.
The film stars Sara Miley and Alireza Gilvari.
The PIFF festival, held from October 9 to 12, 2025, showcased films from around the world with a focus on cultural diversity, continuing its tradition of providing a platform for innovative and international cinematic works.
