Iranian Short Film Enters Competition at Russia’s Film Festival
WANA (Oct 19) – The Iranian short film “Pongo, Spike, and Tyke”, directed by Meysam Shamsi, has been selected to compete at the 18th Vision International Short Film Festival in Russia.
Written and directed by Meysam Shamsi and produced by Amir Mohammad Asgari, the film secured a spot in the official competition of the festival, which showcases innovative short films from around the world.
Founded in 2007, the Vision International Film Festival operates under the slogan “Show Your View of the World!” and serves as a platform for young filmmakers to translate their perspectives into visual storytelling for a global audience. The festival emphasizes the uniqueness of each film and its appeal to specific audiences, ensuring a curated and distinctive program each year.

“Pongo, Spike, and Tyke” follows the story of a young girl named Maryam, who takes it upon herself to prevent a looming humanitarian disaster.
The film features performances by Alireza Darvish, Amir Mohammad Asgari, Saber Rashidi, Zoha Rajaei, and Ali Derakhshandeh. Its international distribution is managed by Minerva Film under the leadership of Elaheh Goodarzi.
