Iranian Spokesperson Rebukes U.S. ‘Stone Age’ Threats
WANA (Apr 03) – Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a statement on the social media platform X in response to recent threats by U.S. officials suggesting that Iran could be “returned to the Stone Age.”
Baghaei wrote that “darkness, trapped in the illusion of understanding ‘today’ and planning for ‘tomorrow,’ is itself suffering from the delusion of the ‘Stone Age.’”
He added that Iranians, throughout history, have been guardians of “greenery” and the “cypress tree,” symbols of resilience and growth.
“Even today,” he stated, “every Iranian, inspired by deeply rooted wisdom in their culture and meaningful action in their time, plants a tree.”
Concluding his remarks, Baghaei said: “Let darkness remain in its illusion—confused about ‘today’ and ‘tomorrow.’ The nation of love plants a sapling whose branches will extend into the future.”
