WANA (Aug 10) – Iran’s national student robotics team has achieved major international success at the World Robotics Competition in China, securing three podium finishes against top-tier global teams.

 

The 13-member delegation of Iranian students demonstrated exceptional technical skill and creativity at the tournament, which featured competitive entries from 48 leading countries in technology, including host nation China, Russia, Romania, Japan, Germany, and South Korea.

2nd Place (Overall Team): Technical Report category, honoring excellence in engineering design, detailed project documentation, and problem-solving presentations.

 

3rd Place: Under-12 Creativity Division, highlighting the innovation and practical inventiveness of the team’s youngest members.

 

3rd Place: Robotic Rugby, demonstrating strong real-time mechanics and strategic programming under competitive pressure.

 

“Securing second place in Technical Report highlights our students’ thorough mastery over the entire engineering cycle—from initial concept and fabrication to high-level technical documentation,” said Nader Nobakht, head of the Iranian delegation.

 

The Iranian squad competed under a dedicated banner commemorating the late students of the Shajareh Tayyibah school in Minab, bearing their portraits on official team uniforms during the podium ceremonies.

 

Building on a previous world runner-up title in last year’s event, the victory reinforces Iran’s growing standing in international youth STEM competitions.
