Iranian Students Win Medals at Global Invention Contests
WANA (Sep 03) – Two students from the School of Paramedical Sciences at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences have won medals at international invention and innovation competitions.
Saeid Nikoo, a master’s student in Medical Informatics, received a silver medal at the International Invention and Innovation Competition of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Meanwhile, Mohaddeseh Sadat Kharashadizadeh, a Ph.D. candidate in Medical Informatics, secured a bronze medal at the 2025 Korea International Women’s Invention Exposition (KIWIE).
Kharashadizadeh, who has previously won gold and silver medals at IFIA 2024 and 2025 events, highlighted the importance of nurturing young innovators, describing participation in such global competitions as a valuable opportunity to showcase ideas on an international stage.
Nikoo won his silver medal for developing an “innovative system and device for configuring and selectively disabling physical buttons on input devices.” He emphasized the need for greater support of creative students and stronger collaboration between universities and industry.
