Iranian Tankers Pass Through Naval Blockade
WANA (May 07) – Two Iranian vessels — an oil tanker and a large LPG carrier — entered the waters of the Persian Gulf after passing through what was described as a “naval blockade.”
According to a report by a ship navigation tracking platform, the two vessels successfully completed their route and reached their destination in the Persian Gulf. The report did not provide further details regarding the exact timing of the passage or the vessels’ point of departure.
Another part of the report stated that the United States, as part of its policies, is pursuing a plan referred to as a naval blockade of Iran, aimed at increasing pressure on shipping routes.
The report also noted that Iran, within parts of its maritime strategy, uses unloaded oil tankers as floating oil storage reserves.
