Iranian, Venezuelan Presidents Reaffirm Unity Against U.S.
WANA (Sep 09) – In a telephone conversation with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran’s experience has demonstrated the failure of U.S. and Israeli objectives against the country.
He said such failures stem from national unity and domestic solidarity, which he described as an “endless source of strength” for the Iranian nation. Pezeshkian added that as long as this unity is preserved, “no foreign power will be able to harm our countries.”
Maduro, for his part, underlined the exemplary solidarity between the Venezuelan government, people, and armed forces, stressing that this cohesion has fortified the nation against any threat.
“The United States is attempting to tarnish Venezuela’s image through fabricated narratives and psychological warfare,” Maduro said. “But even within their own society, these lies are not accepted. Our nation remains calm but fully prepared to resist any potential threats.”
He noted that the mobilization of over eight million Venezuelans in response to a national defense call reflects the determination of his people. Maduro also highlighted Venezuela’s peace initiatives in Latin America, particularly in the Caribbean, saying his country has united with others in the region in a “historic move” to advance and deepen peace.
Expressing gratitude for Tehran’s continued support, Maduro said: “Today, Iran and Venezuela are more united than ever. Your backing gives us greater motivation to preserve independence, dignity, and national pride. We will fully utilize our capacities to expand joint cooperation.”
During the conversation, President Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s firm support for Venezuela’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Welcoming Maduro’s report on Venezuela’s growing national cohesion, he said: “The Islamic Republic of Iran’s experience has shown that defeating U.S. and Israeli objectives is rooted in our national unity and solidarity, which has granted us enduring power.”
Pezeshkian criticized Washington’s long-standing hostile policies toward Iran, citing “false propaganda and fabricated narratives” that have been used to justify threats and pressure against the Islamic Republic, often in violation of international law.
He stressed: “Iran strongly condemns any violation of territorial integrity and stands fully in support of the Venezuelan people and nation. We hope Venezuela, with its unity and solidarity, will continue to advance with dignity and success.”
Pezeshkian also referred to the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, where he said U.S. unilateralism and the instrumental use of force under “false pretexts” were condemned as contrary to international law.
Concluding the call, the Iranian president welcomed Venezuela’s initiatives to safeguard regional peace and stability, reaffirming Tehran’s readiness to expand cooperation with the “friendly and allied nation.”
