Iran’s 14-Year-Old Movahed Wins Chess Titled Tuesday
WANA (Jul 19) – In a remarkable display of talent and composure, 14-year-old Iranian Grandmaster Sina Movahed clinched the title at the prestigious Titled Tuesday online chess tournament, defeating several of the world’s top-ranked players.
Held with the participation of elite global chess stars, the tournament witnessed Movahed—hailing from Iran’s Khuzestan province—emerge as the surprise champion.
The young grandmaster advanced to the finals with an unbeaten record, eventually facing off against Russian Alexey Sarana, who had accumulated 9.5 points.
In the final match, Movahed overcame Sarana, finishing the event with a perfect 10 points, securing the top position.
Movahed’s performance not only earned him the $1,000 cash prize but also a coveted spot in the upcoming Titled Tuesday Grand Prix, setting the stage for even greater achievements in his burgeoning career.
