WANA (Jul 08) – Russia’s representative to international organizations said early Tuesday that Iran’s move to enrich uranium to 60% has worried those applying pressure on Tehran.

Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s envoy to international organizations in Vienna, described Iran’s decision to increase uranium enrichment levels as a reaction to Western pressure.

On his personal account on the social network X (formerly Twitter), Ulyanov wrote: “Don’t you think enriching (uranium) to 60% is simply a countermeasure and a response to illegitimate sanctions and aggressive pressure?”

He further explained: “It seems to be a fairly effective countermeasure that worries those who are trying to put pressure on Iran.”
