Iran’s Air Pistol Team Finishes as World Runner-Up
WANA (Oct 30) – On the third day of the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup in Al Ain, the UAE, Iran’s Nasrin Shahi claimed the gold medal in the women’s air pistol final with a score of 239 points, while Faezeh Ahmadi won the bronze medal with 215.6 points.
In the team events, both Iran’s men’s and women’s air pistol teams earned silver medals, finishing as world runners-up.
The World Shooting Para Sport World Cup, held from October 28 to November 4 at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club, has brought together 213 athletes from 39 countries competing in 40 team and individual events across rifle, pistol, and shotgun disciplines.

In the men’s air pistol preliminary round, Seyed Mohammadreza Mirshafie, Rasoul Hejariyan, and Mostafa Khadem represented Iran. Mirshafie finished ninth with a score of 559, Khadem ranked tenth with 557, and Hejariyan came nineteenth with 548. All three athletes secured qualification standards for the upcoming Asian Para Games and the World Championships.
Earlier, in the R4 SH2 10m Standing Air Rifle preliminary round, Mohammadreza Amini and Majid Babaei competed for Iran. Amini finished 15th with a score of 623.4, and Babaei 18th with 621.0, both achieving qualification marks for the Nagoya Asian Para Games and the World Championships in South Korea.
The Al Ain World Cup continues through November 4, hosting top para shooters from around the globe.
