Iran’s Ambassador to UN: Unconditional surrender is not negotiation
WANA (Jun 29) – Amir Saeed Iravani, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, stressed that “unconditional surrender is not negotiation,” saying: “If the Americans want to dictate their conditions to us, negotiating with them will be impossible.”
On Sunday (local time), Iravani explained why Tehran has so far rejected President Trump’s pressure for a diplomatic solution to Iran’s conflict with Israel. He said:
“Unconditional surrender is not negotiation; it is the imposition of their policy on us. If they are ready to negotiate, we are ready too. But if they intend to impose their conditions, no negotiation with them will be possible.”
He added that Iran will not stop its uranium enrichment.
Regarding the situation of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors and Iranian reactions to Rafael Grossi, the agency’s Director General, Iravani said:
“They are in Iran and they are safe, but their activities have been suspended. They do not have access to our sites. They have not fulfilled their duties.”
He continued: “Some individuals might personally choose to criticize the Agency or even make threats against its Director General. But our criticism is directed at the Agency itself. Our assessment is that they have failed in their responsibilities and have paved the way for such aggressions against us.”

On June 13, the Israeli regime, in a blatant violation of international law and Iran’s national sovereignty, launched a military attack targeting areas in Tehran and other cities, including the country’s nuclear facilities. This terrorist act killed several Iranian scientists, military personnel, and civilians.
Following this crime by the Israeli regime, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran addressed the Iranian nation in a message, stating:
“The regime should await severe punishment. By God’s will, the powerful arm of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic will not let them go unpunished.”
In the continuation of this aggression, the United States also joined Israel’s war against Iran by launching direct attacks early Sunday (June 22) on Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced in a statement on June 23: “In response to the clear military aggression of the criminal United States regime against the peaceful nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and its blatant violation of international law, under the guidance of the Supreme National Security Council and the command of Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has, carried out a powerful and destructive missile strike targeting Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. This base is the headquarters of the U.S. Air Force and its largest strategic asset in West Asia.”
Finally, on June 24, the U.S. President announced a ceasefire agreement between Iran and the Israeli regime. The Islamic Republic of Iran, while stressing that it did not start the war, declared that if the Israeli regime halts its illegal aggression, Iran also has no intention of continuing its retaliatory actions.
