WANA (Sep 01) – Iran’s Armed Forces General Staff and the Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya have warned that Iran’s armed forces will respond with “powerful and decisive strikes” following US air attacks on locations in the provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan and Hormozgan.

 

In a statement, the two military bodies said that the US actions would be met with a response from Iran’s armed forces, adding that Washington would face heavier costs if it continued its military operations in the region.

 

The statement said: “In response to the US military’s air aggression against areas in Sistan and Baluchestan and Hormozgan, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will deliver powerful and decisive blows against the American enemy.”

 

It added that any escalation of hostile actions and continued US military presence in the region would bring more serious consequences for the United States.

 

Iran’s Armed Forces General Staff stressed that Tehran would not retreat from what it described as the rights and national interests of the Iranian people, pledging to impose “heavy costs” on the United States.
