WANA (Feb 28) – Iran’s Supreme National Security Council announced that the country’s armed forces have begun a decisive and proportionate response following airstrikes carried out by the United States in coordination with Israel against sites inside Iran.

The Supreme National Security Council of Iran said in an official statement that the attacks took place while diplomatic talks were underway, describing the action as a hostile and destabilizing move.

In its first communiqué, the council stated that the air operations were conducted by the United States with the support of Israel, stressing that such actions would not force the Iranian nation into submission. The statement emphasized that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have initiated their response and that the public will be kept informed of developments on an ongoing basis.

The council also underscored that any involvement in espionage or cooperation with what it described as criminal operations would be met with firm action and the harshest penalties under Iranian law.

In a second notice, citizens were urged to report any suspicious activities via hotline 113, operated by the Ministry of Intelligence, or hotline 114, the communication line of the IRGC Intelligence Organization. The statement warned that any action taken in support of hostile or criminal operations would be considered a serious offense and dealt with swiftly and decisively.

These announcements come amid heightened regional tensions, drawing increased attention from international observers to the evolving security situation.
