Iran’s Armed Forces Prepared for Decisive Response; Target Bank Fully Updated
WANA (Apr 28) – Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, the spokesperson for the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasized the continued readiness of the armed forces in a live televised interview, stating: “We have not considered the war over. From the day the war stopped, and a sort of ceasefire or silence took shape on the battlefield, we seriously continued the same trend as the wartime period due to our distrust of America and the enemies.”
Intelligence Readiness and Rapid Response of the Army Ground Force
The Army spokesperson, referring to the performance of the Ground Force, said that based on intelligence assessments prior to the start of the “Third Imposed War,” all Army units possessed appropriate readiness.
General Akraminia stated: “During the enemy’s infiltration in Isfahan, Ground Force units immediately took action, struck American aircraft, and this rapid response caused the enemy’s operation to face failure and defeat.”
He added that during these 40 days, the Ground Force played an effective role in firing missiles, particularly Fajr and Fath missiles, which were launched at enemy bases in regional countries.
He emphasized that no ground aggression against the country’s borders occurred due to the high readiness of the Army Ground Force alongside the IRGC Ground Force.
Destruction of Over 170 Aircraft and 16 Enemy Fighters
Regarding Air Defense performance, he stated: “More than 170 enemy aircraft along with 16 fighter jets were targeted and downed by the Army Air Defense Force and the IRGC Aerospace Air Defense sector, under the control of the National Air Defense Base.” General Akraminia added that many of these drones possessed advanced technology and high dollar values.
Air Force and Navy Operations
On the Air Force’s performance, the spokesperson said that at the beginning of the war, the Air Force attacked enemy bases in countries including Iraq (Erbil), Kuwait, and Qatar. He cited a report by an American media outlet regarding an Army F-5 fighter successfully targeting a U.S. base after passing through various defense layers.
Regarding the Navy, he noted that they fired naval cruise missiles and drones toward targets in the region and Israel. “The Navy did not allow American warships, including the aircraft carrier ‘Abraham Lincoln,’ to approach the country’s coasts,” he added.
Impacts of Operations and Destruction of the Target Bank
General Akraminia stated that these attacks destroyed significant parts of enemy equipment, including air surveillance radars in Qatar and Israel. He noted that refueling centers, especially at Ben Gurion Airport, were targeted multiple times.
“In total, these operations dealt very effective blows to the enemy’s combat power; however, due to severe censorship in Israel and regional countries, many of these impacts were not fully reflected at the time,” he explained. He predicted that the true dimensions of these damages would be revealed in the coming months as more reports emerge.
We Have Updated Our Target Bank
Emphasizing the continuity of their mission, General Akraminia stated: “In this path, we have updated our target bank, continued our training, utilized the experiences gained from the war, and have both produced and updated our equipment; therefore, the conditions for us are still considered wartime conditions.”
He added that the process of strengthening combat power is non-stop, and if the enemy commits aggression again, they will face new tools and methods from the Iranian Army.
Coordination Between the Army and the IRGC
General Akraminia highlighted the increased level of synergy: “Even compared to the 12-day war, the level of our coordination and synergy has significantly increased.”
He explained that operations are now designed such that one strike (e.g., hitting a radar) clears the path for others (e.g., drones). He also noted the coordination in the Strait of Hormuz, where the IRGC handles the west, and the Army Navy controls the east.
Final Warning and People’s Support
In his closing remarks, General Akraminia warned: “Enemies should know that if they commit aggression again, they will certainly face a response more crushing than the past.”
He concluded by stating that the Army is prepared for a long-term war if necessary, noting that some equipment, such as drones, was produced during the 40-day conflict and used on the battlefield the very next day.
