WANA (Aug 10) – Ali Nikzad, Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran recognizes no maritime route through the Strait of Hormuz other than the one agreed upon with Oman, stating that the pathway established by Iran’s armed forces is the sole permissible route for vessel traffic under conditions set by Tehran.

 

Addressing regional developments, Nikzad stated that Iran sought through diplomatic talks to convey to opposing forces that the Strait of Hormuz would not return to pre-conflict conditions.

 

He noted that practical measures by the armed forces have demonstrated that there is no military solution to reopening the strait and that regional powers must adapt to a new framework.

 

Reiterating points raised during consultations with Omani officials, the parliamentary official affirmed that vessel transit remains strictly contingent upon adherence to the guidelines and conditions established by the Iranian government.

 

Nikzad added that all branches of government remain fully committed to executing the directives of Supreme Leader, Khamenei.
