WANA (Aug 29) – The Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, Major General Amir Hatami, declared that foreign adversaries failed to achieve any of their strategic objectives in recent conflicts, affirming that the nation’s missile and drone capabilities remained operational throughout the engagements.

 

Speaking at the commemoration congress for “3,785 Army martyrs” in Gilan Province, General Hatami outlined the military dynamics of defensive warfare.

 

According to General Hatami, military doctrine dictates that an aggressor is only deemed victorious if they accomplish their intended objectives, whereas in a defensive war, denying the enemy those goals constitutes a victory for the defender.

 

Addressing enemy attempts to neutralize Iran’s defense infrastructure, the military chief noted that Iran’s armed forces continued launching missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with full force until the final moments of the conflict. He added that Iranian air defense units stood firm, damaging several enemy drones, manned aircraft, and strategic equipment.

 

Hatami dismissed external claims regarding the degradation of Iran’s defense forces as baseless. He emphasized that while adversaries claim to have eliminated Iran’s armed forces, they are fully aware that Iranian forces continue to stand firm with authority, initiative, creativity, and courage.

 

While acknowledging damage to military facilities and the loss of personnel, the Supreme National Security Council member emphasized that the armed forces and the Iranian public successfully defended the country’s national security and sovereignty.

 

Highlighting internal unity, Hatami pointed to growing cohesion among the public and state institutions—including the government, parliament, judiciary, and security forces—under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

 

In addition to defensive readiness, Hatami highlighted the Army’s domestic humanitarian efforts, noting that its Deprivation Elimination HQ remains active in underprivileged regions, particularly within Gilan Province, to assist local authorities in resolving public grievances.

 

Concluding his address, General Hatami paid tribute to the families of fallen soldiers, describing them as the light of the nation. He added that while serving these families is a great honor and martyrdom remains a profound personal desire, the military’s primary aspiration is to achieve complete victory through steadfast resistance against the enemy before making the ultimate sacrifice.
