WANA (Aug 06) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Army said that the force is currently at full readiness and is continuously improving its operational capabilities through the modernization of equipment, restoration of damaged systems and expansion of domestic defense capacities.

 

Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia said that after experiencing two imposed wars, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army has maintained a high level of preparedness and is pursuing a continuous process to strengthen its defensive and operational capabilities.

 

He emphasized that combat readiness is not limited to acquiring military equipment, but involves a combination of measures, including upgrading existing systems, introducing new equipment, developing indigenous capabilities and enhancing the morale and motivation of personnel.

 

The Army spokesperson said that a significant part of strengthening combat power relies on rebuilding and modernizing damaged or outdated systems, adding that the Army is using its engineering and technical expertise to advance the process.

 

Akrami-Nia noted that the introduction of new equipment into military units has helped reorganize the Army’s capabilities in line with current operational requirements and improve its readiness.

 

He also highlighted air defense as one of the Army’s key priorities, saying that strengthening this sector remains at the forefront of defense programs due to its critical role in protecting national airspace and vital infrastructure amid complex regional conditions and diverse threats.

 

The spokesperson added that part of Iran’s defense development is being carried out within the Army and another part through cooperation with the domestic defense industry and specialized institutions. According to him, these efforts have not only reduced reliance on external sources but have also enabled faster modernization and a more effective response to operational needs.

 

Akrami-Nia further stressed the importance of personnel in determining military strength, saying that while equipment is important, the real power of a military force ultimately depends on the commitment, discipline, morale and motivation of its personnel.

 

He concluded that the Iranian Army, drawing on past experiences and careful planning for future threats, will continue efforts to enhance its combat capabilities and maintain a high level of defensive readiness.
