Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization Reports Renewed Attack on Natanz Enrichment Facility
WANA (Mar 21) – The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran reported that the Natanz enrichment facility, named after nuclear scientist, Ahmadi-Roshan, was targeted in a renewed attack by what it described as U.S. and Israeli forces on the morning of March 21, 2026.
The organization condemned the incident as a violation of international laws and obligations, including the NPT and other regulations concerning nuclear safety and security.
Technical and specialized assessments were immediately conducted by Iran’s National Nuclear Safety Center to evaluate any potential release of radioactive materials within the facility.
According to the results, the agency stated that due to pre-existing safety measures, prior planning, and data recorded in monitoring systems, no radioactive leaks were detected. The report assured that there is no risk to residents in the surrounding areas.
