WANA (Jun 13) – In response to the Israeli regime’s assault on the Shahid Ahmadi Roshan Enrichment Complex (Natanz), the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) has issued the following statement:

“The AEOI announces that the attack has caused damage to various parts of the Shahid Ahmadi Roshan Enrichment Complex. Assessments are currently underway to determine the extent of the damage.

So far, there have been no reports of casualties among personnel stationed at the site.

Investigations have confirmed that no radioactive or chemical contamination has spread beyond the site.

This action by the Israeli regime stands in clear violation of international law, including resolutions of the IAEA Board of Governors, the IAEA General Conference, and the United Nations Security Council.

Over the past two years, following repeated threats by the Israeli regime against Iran’s nuclear facilities, the head of the AEOI has sent multiple letters to Mr. Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), urging him—given his legal responsibilities—to condemn such threats. Unfortunately, even after this latest attack, the Director General has taken no action.

Meanwhile, the Agency has strayed from its professional and impartial mandate by issuing biased political reports based on fabricated information provided by the Israeli regime.

The AEOI considers this silence as a form of complicity with the Israeli regime and believes that the IAEA, by failing to act, has effectively degraded itself into a tool in the hands of Israel, thereby losing its credibility as a reputable international organization. This attack represents a failure for the IAEA, stemming from the Director General’s inexcusable negligence and his inability to fulfill his professional and impartial duties, including the protection of peaceful nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards.

There is no doubt that political pressure, now coupled with military aggression, will not shake the resolve of Iran’s scientists, experts, and workers in this proud industry. On the contrary, in defiance of the enemy’s intentions, they will pursue the nation’s high goals in advancing the nuclear industry with even greater determination.”
