Iran’s Daily Oil Output Rises by 190,000 Barrels
WANA (Aug 19) – The International Energy Agency (IEA) has reported a significant increase in Iran’s oil production, with daily output rising by 190,000 barrels in July 2025, the highest growth among OPEC members for the month.
According to the agency’s latest monthly oil market report, total OPEC production stood at 28.21 million barrels per day (bpd) in July, down by 210,000 bpd compared to June. The bloc had produced 28.42 million bpd in the previous month.
While overall OPEC output declined, Iran’s production climbed from 3.08 million bpd in June to 3.27 million bpd in July. This sharp increase positioned Iran as the leading contributor to OPEC’s output growth.
In contrast, Saudi Arabia recorded the steepest cut, reducing production by 280,000 bpd from 9.8 million in June to 9.52 million in July.
The IEA noted that the rebound in Iran’s production offset much of the reported 400,000 bpd decline in June, which the agency had previously attributed to disruptions linked to tensions with Israel.
