WANA (Jan 12) –Iran’s Minister of Defense said the country will unveil “surprises” to confront threats, warning that any aggressors would suffer significant pain and hardship as a result.
Iran’s Defense Minister: We Will Have “Surprises” to Counter Threats
Speaking on Monday (January 12) at a rally in Tehran titled Unity Against Israeli–American Terrorism, Brigadier General Amir Brigadier Pilot Aziz Nasirzadeh, Iran’s Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, said politicians who threaten the Islamic Republic should “open their eyes and see the greatness and strength of the Iranian people,” stressing that Iran’s hard and soft power ultimately rests on its revolutionary population.
He added that these revolutionary people would never allow “a handful of hired thugs” to challenge a revolution built on the blood of hundreds of thousands of martyrs.
Nasirzadeh also issued a warning to what he described as “the pharaoh of the era” and those who, through bullying tactics, threaten the Iranian people with military action under various pretexts. He said that if they were to commit “any mistake” and target Iran’s interests, Iran would respond by striking all of their interests anywhere in the world. He added that any country facilitating such an attack or providing bases to the attackers would be considered a legitimate target.
Concluding his remarks, the defense minister reiterated: “To counter threats, we will have surprises, and the attackers will endure a great deal of pain and suffering from these surprises.”
