WANA (Aug 21) – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London has issued a statement condemning the British government’s unilateral sanctions against certain Iranian individuals and entities.

According to the statement, “The UK government, relying on baseless pretexts and unfounded accusations, has imposed these sanctions—an action that contradicts the principles of international law governing friendly relations and cooperation among states, as set out in the UN Charter. Such measures only harm bilateral relations and deepen mistrust.”

The statement added: “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized dialogue and mutual respect in international relations and has never planned, supported, or carried out any action threatening the UK’s internal security. The allegations made in this regard are completely rejected and fundamentally unacceptable.”

The embassy further stated: “What truly threatens regional and global peace and security are the aggressive actions and crimes of the Israeli regime—a regime that, by committing multiple international crimes including aggression, genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, has violated all red lines and remains the main source of instability in the region. It is astonishing that Western countries continue to ignore the global outcry against this child-killing regime and take no effective action to stop its crimes.”

In conclusion, the statement reaffirmed: “The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran once again stresses our nation’s commitment to the principles of mutual respect, non-interference in the internal affairs of states, and constructive cooperation at bilateral, regional, and international levels. We call on the UK government to refrain from continuing its hostile policies and illegal, destructive measures.”

Earlier, the UK Foreign Office announced the addition of several Iranian petrochemical and trading companies to its sanctions list.
