Iran’s First Vice President Heading to Moscow for SCO Summit
WANA (Nov 16) – Iran’s First Vice President will travel to Russia on Monday at the head of a delegation to participate in the 24th Meeting of the Prime Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The 24th SCO Heads of Government Summit is scheduled to be held on 16–17 November 2025 in Moscow.
Mohammad Reza Aref, the First Vice President, is set to deliver a speech at the summit and will also hold bilateral meetings with several participating officials.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization — comprising countries such as Iran, Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and others — is considered a major international body. It represents at least 24% of the world’s total land area, 65% of Eurasia, and 42% of the global population, and by 2024, it accounted for approximately 36% of global GDP.
