WANA (Nov 29) – Iran’s bodybuilding and fitness delegation, competing under the slogan “Iran Always Champion,” captured the team championship and a total of 11 medals on the opening day of the 2025 IFBB World Championships in Saudi Arabia.

 

The IFBB World Bodybuilding Championships 2025—held alongside the Men’s and Women’s Fitness Challenge Championships and the IFBB Annual Congress—runs from 27 November to 1 December at the Khobar Sports Complex in Saudi Arabia. Iran is participating with full national teams across multiple divisions.

 

Iranian athletes delivered a strong performance on Day 1. The Speed Fit Team Iran won the team title in the Fitness Challenge category.

 

In bodybuilding, Farhad Asadollahzadeh claimed gold in Classic Physique with an outstanding performance, while compatriot Mohammad Khosravi earned silver, and Abbas Bakht-Nama finished fourth.

 

In the Fitness Challenge events, Erfan Ghezeli won gold in the Youth Gold Individual category. Omid Kalaji secured bronze in the Adult Gold Individual division and added another bronze in the Silver Individual division.

 

Iran also excelled in the couples’ events, earning:

  • Gold in Adult Couples (Ali Talash Hosseini & Amir Zanjani)
  • Silver in Adult Couples (Erfan Ghezeli & Omid Kalaji)
  • Bronze in Couples Silver (Amir Zanjani & Ali Talash)
