WANA (Jun 17) – Following the recent attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) headquarters, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi condemned the incident, calling it a “cowardly and desperate act” by Israel.

Araghchi stated, “This attack reveals the extent of Israel’s desperation. When they fail on the battlefield, they resort to targeting civilian centers that merely speak the truth.”

He emphasised that such acts will not weaken the Islamic Republic, adding, “Israel thought that by assassinating our commanders or striking certain sites, Iran would surrender or collapse. But they do not know the Iranian nation and have not learned from history.”

Araghchi further warned, “Our enemies must understand that there is no military solution to their problem with Iran. They cannot force the Iranian people to submit to their demands through coercion.”

Referring to Iran’s resilience, he said, “We fought for eight years and defended our homeland heroically. Then we endured years of sanctions and pressure. These efforts have not broken us. Our commanders were swiftly replaced, and our armed forces immediately demonstrated their readiness.”

The comments come amid escalating tensions in the region and mark a firm rejection of any attempt to undermine Iran’s stability through military or covert aggression.

The main headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in Tehran — commonly known as the “Glass Building” — was targeted in a missile strike by Israel yesterday. The attack briefly interrupted the live broadcast of Iran’s News Channel but was met with swift operational recovery and widespread reactions from Iranian officials and international media organizations.

The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also called for the United Nations Security Council to take action to halt the ongoing crimes committed by Israel against Iran.

Esmail Baghaei, the spokesperson, took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the Israeli regime’s attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) building, describing Israel as the “biggest enemy of truth.”

In his message, he stated:

“The world is watching. The attack on IRIB marks yet another savage crime. The Zionist regime is the biggest enemy of truth and holds the record for killing journalists and media personnel.”

Baghai further urged the United Nations Security Council to fulfil its responsibility to stop the genocidal regime’s aggression against the Iranian people.
