Iran’s Foreign Minister Calls for U.S. Withdrawal from Region
WANA (Mar 31) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, has called for the withdrawal of United States forces from the region while emphasizing Tehran’s respectful and brotherly relations with Saudi Arabia.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, Araghchi stated that Iran regards Saudi Arabia as a “brotherly country” and holds it in high esteem. He stressed that Iran’s operations are directed not at regional nations, but at what he described as an “aggressor enemy” that shows no respect for either Arab nations or Iran.
Araghchi further argued that this adversary lacks the capability to ensure regional security, pointing to recent developments as evidence of its weakness. He suggested that Iran’s actions against key elements associated with this opponent demonstrate its inability to maintain stability.
Highlighting shifting dynamics in the region, the Iranian foreign minister declared that “the time has come” for U.S. forces to leave the region.
He reiterated that Iran’s actions are focused on countering external threats, while also underscoring Tehran’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening relations with regional countries, particularly Saudi Arabia.
