Iran’s Foreign Minister Departs for Geneva for Second Round of Nuclear Talks
WANA (Feb 15) – Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, left Tehran on Sunday evening at the head of a diplomatic and technical delegation bound for Geneva to participate in the second round of nuclear negotiations and a series of political and diplomatic consultations.
This round of talks follows the first round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, which was previously held in Muscat with Oman acting as mediator.
The second round is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, with Oman continuing its mediating role. The discussions are aimed at exploring pathways to reduce tensions and assessing prospects for progress in nuclear diplomacy.
During the visit, Iran’s foreign minister is also expected to meet with his counterparts from Switzerland and Oman, as well as the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency and several international officials based in Geneva. These meetings will focus on technical, oversight, and political issues related to Iran’s nuclear program and regional developments.
Observers view the trip as a sign of continued diplomatic efforts to manage disputes and maintain dialogue channels, a process that has now entered a new phase following the first round of talks in Muscat.
