Iran’s Foreign Minister Meets with the Prime Minister of Pakistan
WANA (Apr 25) – Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who has traveled to Islamabad to consult with high-ranking Pakistani officials, met and held talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif this afternoon.
During this meeting, which was also attended by Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, as well as regional and international developments, were discussed and exchanged.
Pointing to the determination and will of the high-ranking officials of both countries to continue the process of steadily enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation—as well as coordination and cooperation at the multilateral level and within international organizations—the Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed confidence that this process will continue with strength and in line with the common interests of the two neighboring and Muslim countries.
Araghchi, referencing the emphasis of Iran’s Supreme Leader and President Pezeshkian on the comprehensive promotion of relations with neighbors, particularly Pakistan, emphasized Pakistan’s special position in Iran’s foreign policy and relations, and Iran’s will to further develop ties between the two nations.
Araghchi, while expressing gratitude for the diligent efforts of senior Pakistani government officials to end the war imposed by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran and to establish a ceasefire—as well as their gracious hosting of the negotiations—outlined Iran’s principled positions regarding the latest developments related to the ceasefire and the total conclusion of the imposed war against Iran.
Furthermore, pointing to the ongoing crimes of the Israeli regime in Palestine and the regime’s repeated aggressions against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Lebanon, the Foreign Minister praised the positions of the government and people of Pakistan in support of and solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian nation, as well as Pakistan’s special attention to the implementation of the ceasefire agreement regarding Lebanon.
Following his meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, wrote on X:
