Iran’s Foreign Ministry Responds to the EU: Don’t Justify Aggression
WANA (Jun 17) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry issued a sharp response to EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, stating: “Ms. Kaja Kallas, please don’t justify aggression!”
Esmail Baghaei, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, responded to Kallas’s remarks via a post on X, writing: “How can you express concern over Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, which is under the most rigorous IAEA inspections, while turning a blind eye to Israel’s vast nuclear arsenal?!
Iran has never sought nuclear weapons — unlike the aggressor, who remains the sole obstacle to a ‘nuclear weapons-free Middle East,’ a proposal Iran has supported since 1974.
How can you talk about ‘de-escalation’ without condemning the aggressor or halting its aggression and war crimes?!”
Earlier today, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said during a press conference: “We all agree that Iran must never acquire a nuclear weapon. De-escalation is crucial in the current situation. The European Union will play its part in diplomatic efforts.”
