Iran’s Latest Casualty Figures Following Military Strikes
WANA (Apr 10) – Iran’s Ministry of Health has released a comprehensive report detailing the human and infrastructural toll following recent military actions by Israel and the United States. The data highlights a significant impact on civilians and the healthcare sector.
Human Toll and Demographics
According to official Ministry data, the provinces of Tehran and Hormozgan have recorded the highest number of fatalities. The report provides a somber breakdown of the lives lost during the escalation:
- Women: 258 victims
- Minors: 221 children and teenagers under the age of 18
- Young Children: 18 children under the age of 5
- Healthcare Workers: 26 medical personnel lost their lives while serving on the front lines of the crisis.
The number of injured is also substantial, with the Ministry documenting 4,992 women, 2,115 minors under 18, and 70 infants under the age of 2 among those receiving treatment for various injuries.
Damage to Healthcare Infrastructure
The strikes have caused extensive destruction to the nation’s medical network, severely hampering emergency response capabilities.
Reports confirm that 55 emergency bases, 49 medical treatment units, and 226 health centers have sustained significant damage. Furthermore, the intensity of the situation forced the total evacuation of 9 hospitals, while 41 ambulances were either damaged or destroyed during the operations.
The Ministry emphasized that the widespread damage to medical facilities and the loss of specialized personnel have created a critical strain on the country’s ability to provide urgent care to those affected.
