WANA (Aug 07) – In two official decrees issued today, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, made key appointments to high-level national security and defense bodies.

In the first decree, Dr. Ali Larijani is appointed as the Supreme Leader’s Representative to the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), in accordance with Article 176 of the Iranian Constitution.

This appointment follows the recent designation of Dr. Ali Akbar Ahmadian to senior executive responsibilities within the administration.

Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his appreciation for Dr. Ahmadian’s effective service in recent years within the SNSC and prayed for the success of all those serving the nation.

In the second decree, the Supreme Leader appointed both Dr. Ali Akbar Ahmadian and Admiral Ali Shamkhani as his representatives to the newly established Defense Council.

The formation of this council follows recent government ratifications aimed at further enhancing Iran’s strategic defense coordination.
