WANA (Sep 07) – In a meeting with the President and cabinet members, Iran’s Supreme Leader called on Islamic countries to sever both trade and political ties with Israel, stressing that isolating the regime should become a key pillar of regional diplomacy. He also addressed domestic issues, emphasizing the importance of improving citizens’ livelihoods, stabilizing markets, reforming the oil sector, and promoting a spirit of work and hope over the state of “neither war nor peace.”

In his remarks, the Supreme Leader condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza, stating: “Islamic countries should completely cut their commercial relations with this regime and even suspend political ties. Israel is the most isolated and unpopular government in the world and must be further marginalized.” He added that one of Iran’s main diplomatic priorities should be to encourage governments to sever ties with Israel.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also addressed domestic economic concerns, highlighting citizens’ livelihoods as a top priority. He called for stricter market regulation, preventing uncontrolled price increases, and ensuring government decisions are fully implemented.

The Supreme Leader emphasized the importance of portraying Iran’s strengths in public statements and media, saying: “Officials should not only report weaknesses; they must convey the country’s real capabilities to strengthen public trust and national morale.”

On energy policy, he pointed out Iran’s lag in oil extraction methods and stressed that the scientific capacities of young professionals could bring significant reforms. He also underlined the need to diversify Iran’s oil customers and boost exports.

According to Khamenei, overcoming both domestic and regional challenges requires promoting a spirit of work, hope, and initiative: “This mindset must prevail over the ambiguous and draining state of neither war nor peace, a situation our enemies seek to impose on the country.”
