Iran’s National Computer Olympiad Team Shines at IOI 2025
WANA (Aug 02) – The National Computer Olympiad Team of the Islamic Republic of Iran earned an outstanding result at the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2025), held from July 27 to August 3 in Sucre, Bolivia. Among teams from 84 participating countries, Iran secured one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal.
According to the Ministry of Education’s Information and Public Relations Center, Amirali Asgari won the gold medal, Mani Zare and Hamed Ghaffari earned silver, and Kiarash Rezaei took home the bronze.
Iran’s success reflects its growing strength in the field of informatics and youth talent development on the global stage.
The Iranian Computer Olympiad team also participated in the 36th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) last year, held in Alexandria, Egypt, and ranked ninth in the world, achieving remarkable success.
Among the standout performers, Amir Ali Asgari won the prestigious gold medal, while Amirhossein Farkhondehfar and Amirreza Dorosti each earned silver medals. Parsa Farajpour added to the team’s success by clinching a bronze medal.
