WANA (Jan 20) – The National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s Parliament issued a statement addressed to the U.S. President, stating that any attack against Iran’s Supreme Leader would be regarded as a declaration of war against the entire Muslim world.

The statement warned that such an action would lead Islamic scholars to issue calls for jihad (a religious decree calling on Muslims to defend Islam) and would provoke responses from Muslims around the world.

Full text of the statement is as follows:

“In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

O Great and Heroic Nation of Iran,

The President of the terrorist U.S. government, after enduring various defeats from the Iranian nation—including the defeat in the 12-day war and the defeat in ISIS-like terrorist activities—has recently engaged in threatening the Supreme Leader.

The psychotic President of the United States must know that any aggression against the Leader of the Islamic World—His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei—is the equivalent of a declaration of war against the entire world of Islam; and he must await the issuance of the Jihad decree by the Ulema of Islam and the response of the soldiers of Islam in all points of the world.

The terrorist U.S. government, in addition to the thousands of martyrs it has recently imposed upon the Iranian nation—and it must give up an equal number of casualties from American soldiers—must know that all interests of the Americans in all various military, economic, and political dimensions across the entire world will be attacked by the soldiers of Islam, and the psychotic President of America himself, due to the martyrdom of General Soleimani and thousands of innocents in Iran, must be subjected to Qisas (Retaliation in kind).”
