WANA (Aug 26) – Hamid Bourd, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), has declared that Iran’s crude oil exports increased by nearly 10 percent during the Ramadan War, a period marked by heavy aerial bombardments. In addition to the volume growth, global oil prices trended upwards during this time.

 

Addressing the reasons behind withholding official production and sales figures, Bourd explained, “We have refrained from officially publishing production and sales statistics for several years. This decision stems from a strategic goal to prevent adversaries from accessing precise data on the country’s oil industry performance, complemented by critical security considerations.”

 

Actual Oil Production Surpasses Declared Figures

The NIOC CEO went on to emphasize that Iran’s actual oil production is “definitely higher” than the figures typically reported by international organizations, journals, and institutions.

 

Focusing on the Ramadan War era, Bourd highlighted the resilient performance of the nation’s oil export operations. “During the Ramadan War, Iran’s oil exports recorded an increase of approximately 10 percent compared to the pre-war period,” he stated.

 

Bourd elaborated that this growth occurred despite severe bombing campaigns targeting the country. He noted that even crude oil loading operations experienced a surge, culminating in an 8 to 10 percent increase in overall exports relative to peacetime levels.

 

He also addressed price dynamics, confirming that oil prices did not decline during this volatile period. On the contrary, Bourd reported, “Alongside the growth in export volumes, oil prices also increased, resulting in overall growth for the country’s oil exports throughout the Ramadan War.”

 

The NIOC chief concluded by underscoring the industry’s demonstrated capabilities. He emphasized that this performance validates the Iranian oil sector’s ability to effectively manage production, loading, and exports even under extremely challenging conditions, ensuring the continuous flow of its critical operations.
