WANA (May 11) – Iran’s Petroleum Minister, Mohsen Paknejad, has dismissed reports from Western media outlets claiming that the country’s oil wells are facing technical crises or physical damage.

Responding to inquiries regarding reports of alleged “oil well explosions,” the Minister described the claims as “baseless fantasies” spread by media outlets under foreign control. “Experts in the field laugh at such talk,” Paknejad said. “Which explosions are they talking about?”

He highlighted the resilience of the sector, stating that during 40 days of conflict, production levels remained steady and the export process was carried out in a favorable and appropriate manner.

While the Minister acknowledged that challenges arose following the imposition of the U.S. naval blockade, he assured that strategic measures were implemented to mitigate the impact.

“Naturally, we faced challenges in the days following the blockade,” he noted, adding that “contingency measures were adopted, and the implementation of these strategies continues.”
