WANA (Oct 22) – Fereydoun Falakshahi, a senior analyst at Kpler, a global oil shipment tracking firm, says Iran’s oil exports in September were 200,000 barrels per day higher than previously reported.

Just a week after TankersTrackers announced that Iran’s oil exports had reached an unprecedented 1.9 million barrels per day, Falakshahi revealed that actual exports reached 2.1 million barrels per day, marking a new record.

September was also the month when the “snapback” mechanism was activated — a measure Western countries hope will exert psychological and economic pressure on Iran.

Previously, Iran’s oil exports had only exceeded 2 million barrels per day during the JCPOA period, when all sanctions were lifted.

Now, according to this Kpler analyst, UN sanctions have had little impact on Iran’s oil exports, and despite U.S. restrictions, China’s small independent refineries continue to depend on Iranian crude.
