WANA (Oct 27) – The 68th Belgrade International Book Fair opened at the city’s permanent exhibition center, drawing a wide audience of authors, publishers, diplomats, and book enthusiasts.

 

This year’s guest of honor is the Republic of Cyprus. The official opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus, and a number of ambassadors and diplomatic representatives, including the ambassadors of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Tunisia, the State of Palestine, and the Republic of Finland.

 

On the sidelines of the event, Mohammad Sadegh Fazeli, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Belgrade, met with the Serbian Minister of Culture as well as senior cultural and exhibition officials from Serbia and Cyprus, emphasizing the importance of expanding cultural cooperation between Iran and Serbia.

 

The Iranian ambassador, along with several other ambassadors residing in Belgrade, also visited the Iranian pavilion at the fair. During the visit, he introduced aspects of Iran’s rich cultural and civilizational heritage to visitors and presented a collection of cultural gifts and works.

 

He also toured several Serbian and international booths, becoming acquainted with the latest publications in various cultural and literary fields.

 

The Belgrade International Book Fair—one of the largest cultural events in the region—will continue until November 2, 2025 (11 Aban 1404), welcoming book and culture lovers from around the world.
