Iran’s President Questions Global Leaders Over Double Standards
WANA (Apr 17) – Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has raised a critical question directed at some world leaders, revisiting the remarks he delivered during last year’s United Nations General Assembly.
In a post shared on the social media platform X, he recalled that during his address, he had called for a return to a principle shared by major religions and human conscience: “Do not do unto others what you would not want done to yourself.”
He went on to question what he described as inconsistent approaches in global policies, asking how it can be justified that one entity is allowed to possess nuclear weapons while another faces pressure over what it describes as a peaceful nuclear program.
The Iranian president also referred to the killing of scientists in countries such as Iran, Iraq, and Syria, as well as the deaths of children in certain regions, presenting these as examples of violations of basic human principles.
He concluded by asking whether human conscience has diminished among some world leaders, emphasizing the need for a reassessment of current approaches in international affairs.
