Iran’s Saravi and Dorostkar Named Asia’s Best for 2025
WANA (Apr 05) – The Asian Wrestling Council has officially announced its “Best of 2025” awards, with Iranian wrestling stars securing top honors across the continent’s premier categories.
Mohammad Hadi Saravi and Pejman Dorostkar were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the sport over the past year, highlighting Iran’s continued dominance in regional wrestling.

- Best Greco-Roman Athlete: Mohammad Hadi Saravi (Iran)
- Best Freestyle Coach: Pejman Dorostkar (Iran)
- Best Women’s Athlete: Ami Morikawa (Japan)
- Best Freestyle Athlete: Han Chong-song (North Korea)
- Best Greco-Roman Coach: Rustam Assakalov (Uzbekistan)
- Best Women’s Coach: Nurbek Izabekov (Kyrgyzstan)
- Federation of the Year: Thailand
Mohammad Hadi Saravi, a cornerstone of Iran’s Greco-Roman national team, earned the top athlete spot following a year of consistent performance on the international stage.
Meanwhile, Pejman Dorostkar was honored as the continent’s best freestyle coach, recognizing his leadership in maintaining Iran’s elite status in the freestyle discipline.
