WANA (May 18) – The reconstruction and modernization of refinery and petrochemical infrastructure in the South Pars region, which sustained damage in recent attacks, will be fully completed within a maximum of two years, according to Iran’s Parliament.

Seyed Esmail Hosseini, Spokesperson for the Parliament’s Energy Committee, announced the timeline following an on-site inspection of the affected facilities in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone. Key details of the reconstruction framework include:

Winter Target: Officials estimate that approximately 50 percent of the targeted reconstruction work will be finalized before the onset of the upcoming cold season to secure winter energy supplies.

Indigenous Technology: The rebuilding process will rely entirely on domestic expertise and Iranian-made equipment.

Upgraded Capacity: Rather than a simple restoration, the facilities are being redesigned with advanced technologies to return to service with higher production capacities than before the damage occurred.

Parliamentary representatives, alongside senior oil industry executives, continue to monitor debris removal and engineering progress to ensure the multi-year project meets its initial milestones ahead of the winter demand surge.
