Iran’s Supreme Leader: Millions-Strong Public Turnout Disappointed the Enemies
WANA (Feb 12) – Iran’s Supreme Leader on Thursday evening praised the massive and nationwide participation of the Iranian people in the February 11 rallies, describing it as a clear sign of national unity, increased strength of the Islamic Republic, and a source of disappointment for its adversaries.
Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, in a televised message, said the widespread turnout of people from all walks of life during the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution brought honor to the country and strengthened Iran’s position in the face of external pressures and threats. He emphasized that the large-scale demonstrations sent a clear message that the Iranian nation would not surrender to the demands and expectations of its enemies.
The Supreme Leader described the main outcome of this public movement as greater dignity, power, and national independence, stressing the importance of preserving social cohesion and unity as a strategic national asset.
Referring to the unified presence of citizens across the country and the repetition of shared slogans and messages, Ayatollah Khamenei said the rallies reflected Iran’s national identity and collective character.
