WANA (Jul 05) – Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has reappointed Hojjatoleslam Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei as head of Iran’s Judiciary for another term. The Judiciary is one of the country’s three branches of government and is responsible for overseeing the judicial system and the administration of justice.

 

The appointment was made under Article 157 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which grants the Supreme Leader the authority to appoint the head of the Judiciary.

 

In his decree, Ayatollah Khamenei praised Mohseni Ejei’s “valuable and sincere efforts” during his previous term and called for the continuation of reforms within Iran’s judicial system. He stated that the guidance left by Iran’s late leader, along with the principles outlined in his own message issued on July 7, 2026, should serve as a roadmap for further transformation and the development of what he described as “a desirable Judiciary.”

 

The Supreme Leader also expressed hope that, through the renewed efforts of the Judiciary’s chief, judges, and judicial staff, Iran’s judicial system would continue to improve and deliver greater benefits to the Iranian people.

 

Mohseni Ejei has served as head of Iran’s Judiciary since 2021. His reappointment signals the Iranian leadership’s intention to maintain continuity in the management and reform agenda of one of the country’s most influential state institutions.
